Margie Burke

Hi! My name is Margie and I have been the afternoon receptionist at Harding Yost Insurance for the past 11 years. Along with my front desk duties, I also am an Employee Benefits Processor for our small groups. I love meeting new people and this job has given me the opportunity to meet and greet many of my neighbors in our community.

I guess secretarial work was always my thing. After graduating high school, I worked in Philadelphia as an Administrative Assistant until my true calling as a Mom. I married my best friend 42 years ago and worked evenings as a secretary for a home inspection firm while raising our 4 children. This part time job led to opening a business with one of the inspectors and being able to run the office from home for 22 years. Closing the business and my children being raised led me to get out of the house and find my work family at HYI.

I have volunteered at Water Street Mission for over 7 years and find it very rewarding. I am a member of OMPH church and the “window cleaner” there. I enjoy Zumba at the rec but mostly enjoy spending time with my family. We have 4 grandchildren and my husband and I love our time with them. Our future plans are to retire to South Carolina and see as many concerts as we can!
