Joseph Lapi

I am Joe Lapi, President of Harding-Yost Insurance, and have been in the insurance industry for 30+ years. I started out in sales at Aetna Life Insurance and Annuity Company in Philadelphia before joining Harding-Yost as a sales producer in 1997. In 2002 I moved to a management role and in 2006 I became President and obtained 100% ownership of HYI. I take great pride in HYI’s growth over the past 15 years, expanding from a smaller 8 person agency to a staff of 25 and growing. The best aspects of my job are finding and bringing on quality individuals to become part of our HYI family. I also enjoy meeting with our clients to help them find solutions not only with their insurance needs but other business problems they may have.

I am past President of Ephrata Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow, recipient of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Leadership Award, Chairman of the Board for The Insurance Alliance Network, and have participated on advisory councils for the property & causality and health insurance industry. I graduated from Penn State University and also obtained my LUTCF designation.

I grew up in Lancaster County, have been married to my wife Heather for 30 years and have two daughters – Rowan and Kira. When I am not at work I enjoy traveling with my family, hunting whitetail deer in the Midwest, watching Penn State football and cooking – trying to be the best BBQ pitmaster I can be.
