Melissa Truitt

I’ve been in the insurance industry since 1994, originally in the surety bond segment of the business, and then moved to the commercial property and casualty side. I have been a Commercial Account Manager at Harding-Yost since 2016 and also handle the agency’s surety bond business.  I enjoy working with our business clients – reviewing their policies and pricing and really helping them with their day-to-day needs, from policy changes to certificates to coverage changes and more.  

A little about me personally; I have lived in Lancaster County all my life. I grew up in Akron and Brownstown and now live in Ephrata.  I have a 26-year-old son in the area and a cat at home who might be just as old (I’m not certain, but he sure seems old!).  No grandchildren…yet.  I’ve recently been enjoying doing family ancestry research and “Zumba” classes at the local rec center.

I’ve worked at a few different insurance agencies throughout the last 28 years and I can’t say enough great things about “HYI”.  I’m grateful to be working with such a great group of people and it seems it will be my “work home” for many years to come!
