I was born and raised on a dairy farm in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. My parents started their family and became involved in the “Back to the Land” movement that arose in the mid to late 60’s. We moved to Lancaster County Pennsylvania in 1971 when my father had the opportunity to operate and manage a large dairy operation which is now the Greenfield Corporate Center in Lampeter Township.

I met my wife Kathryn at Elizabethtown College and we were married in 1987. She has a Master’s degree in Christian Education from Lancaster Theological Seminary and works in Alzheimer’s care.

I started my career in finance working for the Londonderry Acceptance Corporation in Palmyra as a junior staff accountant, and learned early on the importance of data security and professional integrity.

From there I spent the next 25 years in banking earning the title of Senior Reporting and Compliance Specialist. Which means I dealt with all of the alphabet agencies of the government (Fed Reserve, OCC, SEC, ECB).
From banking I arrive in the insurance industry. I was acquired and let go in two separate mergers in the span of 1 year, and I took that as a sign to try something new. Here I am responsible for all of the accounting and payroll. I’ve been proud of the contribution I have been able to make in the growth and prosperity of Harding-Yost Insurance.
